Leinster Indoor Championships

Conall Hayes - u16 800m Champion

Le Chéile has a very successful weekend at the Leinster Indoor Championships in Athlone IT, with 22 athletes competing on Saturday with another 27 on Sunday.   There were great performances all round, especially from Conall Hayes who won the u16 800m & 1500m double, Jack Quinn who took Silver in the u12 60m,  Fina Hayes who won a Bronze medal in her debut in the u15 walk and Thomas Connolly who achieved a new PB on his way to a Bronze medal in the u16 Long Jump.  

There were many other PBs and strong performances all round, so well done to all who participated.  Many thanks to all the coaches and parents for their support of the athletes over the weekend.

Leinster Indoor Championships Day 2 & 3

Day 2 & 3 of the Leinster Indoor Championships (u12 - u19) will take place in the Althone IT facility on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th March.   The timetable of events is available here 

Juvenile training cancelled 12 Feb 13

Due to water logged track training for Juveniles is cancelled this evening 12 Feb 13.  Training for Lisa's group will go ahead at the new track...

Leinster Indoor Championships 2013

Congraulations to David McCarthy and Martin Horan on their wins in the Leinster Indoor Championships at the new facility in Athlone IT on Saturday.   David won gold in the senior Men's 400m while Martin won the senior Men's 3K race.   There were also silver medals for Conor Murphy in the junior 1500m and Des Walsh in the masters High Jump.  Well done also to Paul Kiely on his first championship outing in the masters 800m.  Check out the Le Cheile Facebook page for photos from the day.

All Ireland B Cross-Country Championship

Well done to all the Le Cheile athletes who took part in the All Ireland B XC championships in Derry on Sunday;   Fina Hayes (16th), Caragh Hayes (19th), Connor Murnaghan (top 20) & Oran Hayes (top 30).  All athletes are very happy with their runs.

Le Cheile AC Membership 2013

Club Membership for 2013 is now open.  Membership forms are available at the clubhouse or can be downloaded here.   Completed forms can be returned to Lisa at Juvenile training next week or to Paul Kiely in the clubhouse from 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday

The juvenile membership fee is €120 for the first family member, €80 for the second, €30 for the third and there is no charge for subsequent juvenile members. Fit4life & Senior membership is €100.00. Max Family membership €320. Associate Members €50.00

The annual membership fee includes payment of each athletes insurance and registration fees for County, Provincial and National organisations to which the club is affiliated. It also includes entry for Juveniles to certain competitions.

Juvenile training cancelled

Juvenile training cancelled this evening Jan 29th as the running track is waterlogged and in very poor condition. 

PLEASE NOTE : Lisa's group will train on the new running track.

Le Chéile AC AGM for 2012

Le Chéile's AGM will be held on Monday January 21, 2013 in the clubhouse at 8pm.  All nominations for committee positions and/or proposals for changes to the constitution should be sent to secretary@lecheileac.com by 6pm on Monday January 7, 2013.  All nominations and proposals must be seconded by a member.  We would encourage all members (or their parents) to attend.  Many thanks.

All Ireland Cross Country Uneven ages 9 Dec,12 Adamstown

Best wishes to Conall Hayes who is competing in the All Ireland u15 race. Conall is representing the club and is part of the Leinster province team. 

Sean Flanagan and Darragh Nolan will represent the club in the u17 race, both boys moving up an age.

Good luck to you, lads you have trained hard, trained well and are very dedicated athletes.

Training 6th December 2012 is CANCELLED

Apologies Folks, but training tonight is cancelled again due to the poor underfoot condition of the track.

We are hoping to be able to train on Tuesday of next week.

Leinster Cross Country Championships, Day 2: 11 Nov, 2012 11:15

Leinster XC Even Ages - Results

Leinster even ages, novice and master Cross Country Championships took place yesterday in the ground of Avondale House, Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow.  Well done to all the Le Chéile athletes who competed. First off were Owen Mulleady and Aoileann Hayes in the Wicklow U10 race, well done guys.
U12 Girls Club teams finish 14th, Carragh Hayes 48th, Alice Flanagan 99th, Grace Clarke 102nd, Caoimhe Cronin 103rd, Ciara Mulleady 113th, Aimee Stafford 129th; U12 Girls County Team took Gold first 6 girls home score on team.
U12 Boys: Oran Hayes 90th, Callum Ledwidge 101st, Nathan Devine 118th; Kildare County 5th
U14 Girls: Eabhine Grimes 58th, Fina Hayes 88th, Ailbhe Nolan 109th ; Kildare County 7th
U14 Boys; Ciaran Connolly 72nd, Sean Cronin 89th; Kildare County 3rd
U16 Boys: Conally Hayes 18th, Darragh Nolan 27th, Patrick Flanagan 52nd, Thomas Connolly 60th

The boys U16 Club Team finished 4th and have qualified for the All-Ireland National Championships;  Kildare County Team have been listed at 4th Team; however there appears to be an error in the calculating;  I believe Kildare County U16 boys finished in 3rd position with all the Le Cheile boys scoring; (medals due).  So well done boys.

The Kildare Cross Country Championships due to take place on Sunday 7th October, 2012 have been cancelled: this is due to the death of a St Cocas Athlete. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Ciara O'Brien RIP.
